The List & The Procession of Notable Scottish Women

The List and The Procession of Notable Scottish Women was prepared by J.R. Kelly for The Saltire Society & The Penicuik Trust* to mark International Womenís Day 2014. Both contain over 1600 notable Scottish women through the ages from past to present. This small total is just a beginning.Many women of greater or equal notability have been missed and can be added in due course.

The List shows the names of notable women in forename/surname order.It can be seen in full here:

The Procession, ordered through the ages from the earliest past to the present day is in 144 rows each of around a dozen names.For wall display the procession fills a frieze of 72 A4 sheets, 2 rows of notable names 12 abreast on each sheet, with the front of the march on the left and the rows following round clockwise to the tail on the right.It can be seen or downloaded in full here:

The procession first appeared in display at the Penicuik Community Development Trust* Womenís Day Open House on Saturday 8 May 2014 in Penicuik Town Hall (10am-2pm)

It will also be shown at the Trustís Sunday Cinema on 9 March 2014 (same venue, 7pm)
