Jane Kelly trained at
Schools of Art. With a diploma in
ceramics she has long experience as a studio potter, as an adult pottery
teacher and exhibitions organiser. She is active in the Scottish Potters
Association and Penicuik Community Arts.
Much valued and enjoyed, the Pottery Summer Schools are normally taken
up well in advance.

at Valleyfield House is well-equipped.
There are several electric
wheels, a kick wheel, a vertical pug mill, a gas kiln, an electric kiln, and an
efficient and portable Raku kiln.
The clays used are grey stoneware for reduction or
oxidised ware, red earthenware for slipware, white earthenware, porcelain and raku.
