Penicuik Pottery
at Valleyfield House is well-equipped.
There are several
electric wheels, a kick wheel, a vertical pug mill, a gas kiln, an electric
kiln, and an efficient and portable Raku kiln.
The clays used are grey stoneware for reduction or
oxidised ware, red earthenware for slipware, white earthenware, porcelain and
raku.
